What is it?
At the core of Mentaport’s approach to content security is the use of blockchain technology to create certificates for each piece of content. Once a piece of content is uploaded to Mentaport, a unique immutable digital certificate is created. Our certificates consist of immutable non-fungible soulbound tokens, in other words “immutable certificates”. We want to assure users their content remains under their control, now and always!
This certificate records crucial information such as the creation date, the creator’s identity, and the content’s metadata.
Being on a blockchain, these certificates cannot be altered or deleted, providing a permanent record of the content’s existence and ownership at the time of registration. This transparency not only facilitates the tracking of the content’s history but also ensures accountability for any changes, preventing unauthorized alterations.
Why do you need it?
Having an immutable certificate is a great start for safeguarding our content. This not only fosters transparency by allowing everyone to track the historical paper trail of each certificate but also ensures accountability for any changes and guarantees that the owner remains in control.
However, relying solely on a certificate is insufficient to combat misinformation and fraud. Anyone can create a certificate and attach it to a blockchain; anyone can claim ownership of a certificate or assert that a piece of content corresponds to a certificate.This is where Mentaport's watermark technology plays a crucial role. It ensures that each certificate is uniquely paired with a specific piece of content, be it audio, image, or video.
How to make one?
To generate certificates you need to create an account and start certifying in our app or using our sdk. The certificates are owned by you and you have full control over them at all times.
